 Columbia County Moo-Day Brunch
Saturday, June 16, 2018. 9 am to 1 pm. Columbia County Moo-Day Brunch is a June Dairy Month celebration of the Wisconsin dairy industry. A brunch of Pizza Hut pizza, grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt, cheese, milk and ice cream sandwiches is served. Students entering grades 5-9 Explore MVAC's Archaeology Lab and work with artifacts recovered from area excavations as an introduction to the science of archaeology. Discover how the first Native Americans in Wisconsin survived using the area's natural resources. Tuesday, July 10, 2018 through Thursday, July 12, 2018. 9 am-4pm. FTD features local cuisine, educational areas featuring UW-Ext, Youth, Family Living. The show features 600 exhibitors. Mfld Clinic will be offering over a half dozen different free health screening, which includes a free skin cancer screening. The 2018 National Oliver Show will also be held with the event.  Middle School Field Experience
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 through Thursday, July 19, 2018. 9 am-3 pm. Students entering grades 5-9 Take your excitement for archaeology into the field! Students who have taken MVAC's Introduction to Archaeology class in the past can join a La Crosse area project. Participants will work alongside professional archaeologists in the field.  Public Archaeology Field Schools (3 and 5 day experiences)
Monday, July 16, 2018 through Friday, July 20, 2018. This multi-day field and lab experience is a well-rounded opportunity for those who want to learn about the process of archaeology. Work alongside professional archaeologists on an actual archaeological excavation and survey work.  Columbia County Fair
Wednesday, July 25, 2018 through Sunday, July 29, 2018. 10 am to 11 pm. Columbia County Fair is a typical fair with exhibits from youth and adults, whether animal projects or projects involving food and nutrition, photography, cultural arts, flowers, clothing, and crafts. Grandstand events include tractor/truck pull, flat track motorcycle racing, rodeo, demo derby and motocross. The carnival midway offers daily specials such as $1 and $2 Holler ticket day, Humane Society drive and Food Pantry drive. Carnival food is available; also meals sponsored by local groups.
